Knowledge Organisers

Knowledge Organisers are concise, easy-to-use documents that set out the core knowledge students are expected to learn within a topic.

Each organiser brings together the key facts, vocabulary, dates, formulas and concepts in one place, giving students a clear overview of the essential information they will encounter throughout the unit.

They act as a roadmap for the topic, showing the knowledge students need to understand, remember and apply in their written work and formal assessments.

Below, you’ll find links to each year group’s and subject’s Knowledge Organisers. These will be updated throughout the year as new content is introduced, ensuring you always have the most current information.

If you have any questions about how to use the Knowledge Organisers or would like further support, please contact your child's subject teacher.

Why we use Knowledge Organisers

We use Knowledge Organisers because they give students a clear, consistent guide to the essential knowledge in each topic. They help to focus learning, support regular retrieval practice, and provide a foundation students can build on in lessons.

By revisiting key information over time, students develop stronger understanding, greater confidence and improved long-term memory, which supports them in both their classwork and formal assessments.

At home, short and frequent review is most effective. Your child might:

  • Read a section and try to recall it from memory
  • Cover the organiser and quiz themselves
  • Practise key vocabulary
  • Use it as a quick refresher before homework or tests

You don’t need subject expertise to support your child. Simple strategies can make a big difference:

  • Ask a few questions from the organiser
  • Encourage your child to explain a definition or idea
  • Display the organiser somewhere visible
  • Talk about what they feel confident with and what they want to revisit

Small, regular conversations help strengthen memory and build your child’s confidence
