How We Communicate With Parents

At our Academy, we believe working in partnership with parents, carers and families forges the best outcomes for our students.

We are committed to building strong partnerships with families, providing open lines of communication and opportunities for families to play an active role in Academy life.

How can I keep in touch with the Academy?

  • Both phases publish a weekly newsletter, sharing both the highlights of the week and upcoming events for parents to be aware of.
  • Academy communications will be shared with parents and carers via email each week.
  • A parent calendar is available on our school website. Please click here to view the calendar.
  • Parent feedback is crucial in helping us understand how we can best serve our students and families. A parent survey takes place once per term.
  • Parents and carers are regularly invited into the Academy to enjoy performances, fairs and celebration events.

How do I know how my child is doing in school?

Parents are able to book additional meetings outside of the parents’ evening cycle, if there is something you wish to discuss with us.

Primary phase

  • In the primary phase, there are two parents’ evenings per year.
  • In the primary phase, parents will receive a written report twice a year.

Secondary phase

We keep parents and carers updated through a range of communication channels, including:

  • Weekly newsletter - key updates, important dates, and the enrichment timetable
  • Termly academic reports - insight into your child’s progress and achievements
  • Parent consultation evenings - opportunities to discuss progress with teachers
  • Text message reminders - quick updates on important events and deadlines
  • Meet the Tutor evenings - a chance to connect with your child’s tutor at the start of the year
  • ClassCharts app - live updates on praise, rewards, and sanctions
  • My Child At School app – live access to attendance data and student timetables
  • Parent surveys - your feedback helps us shape school improvements
  • Direct email access - key staff contact details provided at the beginning of each year
  • Knowledge organisers - year group curriculum for each subject shared by Heads of Year
  • Website banner updates - quick access to essential school announcements
  • SEND and safeguarding coffee mornings - support and guidance for parents
  • Safeguarding bulletin - regular updates on key safeguarding topics
  • Key transition events - ensuring smooth transitions between school phases
  • Community Liaison Officer - strengthening community engagement and collaboration
