Top grades, a place at Oxford and a ten-year-old mathematician: Chobham celebrates results day

We are delighted to be celebrating fantastic results at Harris Academy Chobham this year. 

With A* grades in Sociology and Film Studies and an A in History, Amelia is set to read History at Lincoln College, Oxford.

Francesca Perry, Executive Principal of the Academy, said:

“Amelia is an exceptional student who has shown outstanding dedication to her subjects.  

“Alongside her A-Level studies, Amelia won a runner-up prize for the Cambridge Anthony Cross Slavonic Studies Essay competition where she researched the historic context of the 1965 film, 'Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors'.

“She has also independently developed her study of Mandarin gaining a special qualification known as HSK 3.”

Maximilian Kiecana is celebrating A*s across the board in physics, chemistry and maths and will go on to read maths at University of Bristol.

Maximilian and Amelia have been Chobham students since year 7 - we are incredibly proud of their journey.  

We are also delighted to be celebrating the fantastic achievement of our year 5 student Musa who got an A* in Maths A Level having achieved Grade 9s in both Maths and Further Maths GCSE last year.

Ms Perry said: 

"Musa loves Lego, cricket, football and playing with his friends. But it was clear to us and his family very early on that he is also a gifted mathematician.  His family organised for him to be taught independently, which we were happy to support. With scores of 95% and 99% in his Maths and Further Math GCSEs last year, he has gone on to achieve an A* in his A Level.  We are enormously proud of him and will do everything we can to ensure that his Year 6 feels just as exciting as his Year 4 and Year 5! Next up, he's thinking about further maths A Level, physics  A Level and the maths Olympiad."

Musa said:

"I didn't mind what grade I got - I just wanted to get all the answers correct."
