World Book Day 2022

Students and teachers were excited to welcome back World Back Day last Thursday after missing last years fesitivites due to the pandemic. World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading, and our students proved with pride just how alive and well this love is.

Every lesson across the school started with an extract from Ray Bradbury's "All Summer In A Day", a short science fiction story written in 1954. A reading zone was set up in the atrium with free books handed out to students, whilst students also participated in word based board games during their lunch break. Hundreds of students and teachers alike participated in the traditional costume competition, with entries from the world of Harry Potter, manga, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Adam Kay, Malificent, Roald Dahl and much much more. We're pleased to share that the top three students were:

  1. Medea Chakhnashvili, 7F3
  2. Tyler Howitt, 7H4
  3. Elena Chakhnashvili, 9R7

Those students will shortly receive gift vouchers for Foyles Bookshop. Thank you to everyone for making this a super successful World Book Day!
